Thank You for joining Living Word’s 14-Day Fast!

Our fast will begin Sunday, January 21st, at noon and run through Sunday, February 4rd at noon.   We’re asking everyone who is a part of Living Word to participate! For a detailed explanation of the fast and why we are doing it, please watch the message from Sunday, January 14th on our website or mobile app at “On Demand”.

Basically, there are two types of fasts:

The Normal Fast abstains from all solid food, ingesting only water and occasionally juice or broth for added energy when needed.

The Daniel Fast is a partial fast, which means that we will eliminate some common things from our daily diet, but will have generous options available. We will focus on eating fruits and vegetables that are pure and simple. We have included a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid at the end of this page.

Daniel Fast Foods To Eat:

Legumes: Dried Beans, Pinto Beans, Split Peas, Lentils, Black Eyed Peas

Fruits: Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, Boysenberries, Cantaloupe, Cherries, Cranberries, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Guava, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi, Lemons, Limes, Mangoes,  Nectarines, Papayas, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Plums, Prunes, Raisins, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tangelos, Tangerines, Watermelon

Vegetables: Artichokes, Asparagus, Beets, Broccoli,  Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Chili Peppers, Corn, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Garlic, Ginger Root, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard, Mustard Greens, Onions, Okra, Parsley, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Radishes, Rutabagas, Scallions, Spinach, Sprouts, Squashes, Sweet Potatoes, Watercress, Yams, Turnips, Zucchini, Seeds, Nuts, Sprouts

Liquids: Water (as much as possible), Herbal (caffeine free) Tea, Fruit Juice

Fish, Meat, Poultry, White Rice, Fried Foods, Caffeine, Tea, Carbonated Drinks, Refined Sugar, White Flour, Margarine, Shortening, High Fat Products, Dairy, (milk, butter, cheese, yogurt etc.)
